Racquetball

Yesterday I played racquetball with a friend. I had only played once before in high school so I lost every game, but it was so much fun. It was also a good workout, I am sore today. Then my mom watched my kids for the afternoon so I went for a 7.6 mile run outside. The sun was shining and the wind wasn't blowing too much so it was great. Then I came home and cleaned the playroom. I got rid of 2 bags worth of stuff, one garbage bag and one for the food basket. My daughter was very excited this morning, she just sat in there reading her books. I had to drag her out so we could go to town. We went to the PAC where they played in the daycare room and I ran on the track. I managed 3.5 miles with 2 miles of interevals. Now I am sore and tired. I was planning on lifting this afternoon but I think I'll wait.

Tonight we are going to a neighbor's party. The kids are going to their aunt and uncle's house for the night. Yeah! I'll be able to sleep in, my daughter usually gets up at 6. Now I just have to go fix a relish tray for the party.

Sledding

The weather today is beautiful! Some friends and I took our kids sledding this morning. It was nice to be outside after being in for days. It was a good workout too since we had to help the kids up the hill and running after them so they didn't crash. The kids had fun, Brooklyn was scared at first but by the time she reached the bottom she was giggling and ready to go again. Gavin was ready to go faster and farther.

Yesterday my MIL watched my kids so I was able to go for a 5 mile run. It was great, the weather was perfect. I ended up having too many layers on. Today I did The Firm Bootcamp dvd and I'm hoping to sneak in a run later. First I have to clean my house. Now that the holidays are over and company gone I am ready to organize my house. It seems every year about this time I feel like spring cleaning, even if I am about 5 months early. We don't really have a spring here, just winter, mud season, summer, and fall!

I have been reading everyone's goals for the new year, so inspiring! I am planning on writing a list of my goals later on today. I have never made a list of my goals, at least not on paper, so I am hoping this helps me to focus more. That is another reason I started this blog, to hold myself accountable. Well I have lots to do, I better start!

My Goals

I have been running for almost 2 years now. I have finished a 10k and this fall I completed my first half marathon. I did not do as well as I wanted so I am looking to run another one this spring. I haven't decided on one yet although I have it narrowed down to about 3. I'm looking at April. It is much harder to train now that is so cold and dark so early. This summer I would usually run at 8 when my husband came home, but that's not going to happen now! So I have been spending a lot of time on the treadmill. I'm grateful to have it but I just can't seem to run more then 5-6 miles on it. Today it is 25 degrees outside so hopefully I can find a babysitter and can sneak out for a run.
